How to Download Etrade Pro
When you first log-in to Etrade, under the Account tab, you will see the tab appear that says, “Etrade 360”, click there.
Now scroll down a little ways and keep your eyes on the far right sidebar. Under “Launch Platforms”, you will see “E*Trade Pro” and a “Launch” button next to it. Click the “Launch” button.
After you run Etrade Pro for the first time, it will create a quick launch icon on your desktop that you can just click to start Etrade Pro.
How Much Does Etrade Pro Cost
At the time of updating this article in the 4th quarter of 2013, how much Etrade Pro costs is based on how much you trade in a calendar quarter. Etrade Pro writes, “The E*TRADE Pro trading platform is available at no additional charge to Pro Elite customers who execute at least 30 stock or options trades during a calendar quarter. To continue receiving access to this platform, you must execute at least 30 stock or options trades by the end of the following calendar quarter.”
Most people think that 30 trades in calendar quarter is a lot of trades but it’s not when you consider what Etrade calls “a trade”. A buy is one trade and a sell is another trade. So really, if you make 15 trades in a quarter, you get Etrade Pro free.
